Our Story

How it all started...

For over 70 years, First Baptist Church of Belfry has stood as a faithful and active pillar in the Belfry community, rooted in a rich heritage of gospel-centered ministry. From its early days, the church has been committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word, fostering deep relationships, and serving the surrounding area with compassion and purpose. Through every season, God has remained faithful, using FBC Belfry to impact countless lives and families for His glory.

Throughout the years, the Lord has graciously blessed the church with growth—both spiritually and numerically—allowing its reach and influence to expand beyond what could have ever been imagined. As we look ahead, there is a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation for all that God will continue to do. With a firm foundation and a forward-looking vision, FBC Belfry remains committed to faithfully serving, sharing the gospel, and embracing the future with confidence in God’s ongoing work.

Where we are headed...

God is doing something special right now at FBC Belfry, and we’re excited to be part of it! Under the leadership of Pastor Mike McCartney and Associate Pastor Nick Hall, we are seeing a season of growth and renewed passion for the gospel. Our congregation continues to grow as more individuals and families find a place to belong, and our student ministry is thriving as the next generation is being discipled, encouraged, and equipped to live boldly for Christ.

Looking ahead, the future is full of opportunity. Through our partnership with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, we are able to extend our reach far beyond our local community and take part in impactful overseas missions. From right here in Belfry to around the world, we are committed to sharing the hope of Jesus and making disciples. We truly believe the best is yet to come, and we invite you to come grow with us as we follow where God is leading!
